Nationalities eligible for this authorisation

Most international travellers can apply for this authorisation, particularly for tourist stays. The online service is open to the vast majority of nationalities. Some exceptions exist, however: nationals of countries such as Palestine or Burundi are not eligible for this type of electronic document.

Most travellers can therefore obtain their authorisation directly online, without going through a consulate.

What is the e-visa Madagascar?

The e-visa Madagascar is an electronic travel authorisation that allows foreign visitors to enter and stay temporarily in the territory. This system, set up to simplify the process, makes it possible to submit your file online, without having to visit an embassy or consulate.

It is aimed mainly at tourists and visitors coming to see family or friends. You may also see it spelled e-visa or evisa: these all refer to the same official document, an electronic authorisation replacing the traditional paper visa.

How long is this authorisation valid?

This single-entry document allows one stay in the territory. If you wish to return to Madagascar after departure, a new application will be required. The authorised duration depends on the type selected during the application: you can choose a stay of 15, 30 or 60 days.

How long does it take to process a file?

Most files are processed quickly, often within 24 to 48 hours. In some cases, processing can take up to 3 to 4 days. We therefore recommend submitting your application several days before your trip to avoid any delay.

How does the application work?

The procedure takes place entirely online: you fill in a form, pay the fees and receive your authorisation by email. On arrival, you simply present this document together with your passport.

Some travellers search for "visa Mada" or "evisa Mada": this refers to the same visa Madagascar issued by the Malagasy authorities.
